The Peppermint Pleco comes from Brazil.  It is popular for its colors.  It is black with tiny white spots over its entire body.  The tank should be at least 50 gallons when plecos are present and there should be lots of water movement, plants, rocks and hiding places.  The Peppermint will eat algae and leftovers from the gravel.  It will also eat pellets, freeze-dried bloodworms, tubifex and brine shrimp.
