The Sunshine Pleco originates from the Rio Xingu in Brazil. It is also known as the
Goldie Pleco. The scientific name aureatus refers to the golden
color. Sunshines require clear water. They prefer water flow,
substrate with round gravel and hiding places, such as caves. Sunshines
will eat sinking pellets, live blackworms and frozen bloodworms.
Adults are more faded in color. Males are slightly larger than
females. Breeding is extremely difficult and Sunshines are obtained
